A scientific paper produced as part of the Play2Green project and presented at ConTEL 2023 in Graz, Austria

20 July 2023

A scientific paper prepared as part of the Play2Green project was presented at the 17th International Conference on Telecommunications – ConTEL 2023, held July 11–13, 2023, in Graz, Austria. The paper titled “Inclusion of Green-themed Serious Games based on Emerging Technologies into Non-green-themed Higher Education Courses” was presented by Iva Zekić, one of the authors of the paper.

The abstract of the paper is available below: This paper explores the inclusion of serious games focused on sustainability topics in courses primarily focused on non-green topics to promote green education. Using mixed-method research, including interviews with lecturers and teaching assistants, and a student questionnaire, we identified 19 modalities (i.e., strategies for inclusion of serious games) and grouped them into seven categories. While the interest in this teaching innovation exists, potential difficulties were also identified. The findings will be used to develop multilingual green-themed serious games and incorporate them into non-environmental courses to promote sustainable education. Overall, this study aims to contribute to a more sustainable society and better education for all learners.
